Graphene 2020 starts today and goes virtual
The Graphene 2020 Conference dedicated to graphene and 2D materials technology kicked off today, October 19, and will continue until October 23. Held completely virtually, this year’s edition will offer five days of plenary talks, parallel workshops, PhD and poster sessions, an industrial forum and an exhibition. The ICN2 is involved in the organization and will be present with 9 talks, 13 posters and a booth under GraphCAT project shared with BIST and ICFO.
Held completely virtually, this year’s edition will offer five days of plenary talks, parallel workshops, PhD and poster sessions, an industrial forum and an exhibition.
GraphCAT project (0001-P-001702) is co-funded by the European Regional Development Funds (ERDF) allocated to the Programa operatiu FEDER de Catalunya, with the support of the Secretaria d’Universitats i Recerca of the Departament de Empresa i Coneixememnt of the Generalitat de Calalunya for emerging technology clusters devoted to the valorization of research results.
The Graphene 2020 Conference, this year’s edition of the largest international conference on graphene and 2D materials, will be hold online between 19-23 October. Thanks to a professional virtual platform, participants will be able to move throughout a virtual venue to attend scientific presentations, visit the industrial exposition and take part in the poster session. The event is organized by Phantom Foundation in collaboration with many research institutes and organisms – Université Grenoble Alpes, Université Claude Bernard, CNRS, UC Louvain, ICN2, ICREA, Technische Universität Dresden, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, and Grenoble INP.
Recent advances in 2D materials technologies will be discussed throughout more than 30 plenary presentations (including keynote and invited talks), two full days of parallel workshops and a day dedicated to PhD students’ presentations, as well as many posters. All the aspects of this multidisciplinary research will be touched, from the growth and synthesis methods of the materials, to the modeling and theoretical interpretation of their behaviour, to the exploration techniques (as microscopy and spectroscopy), to the applications of 2D materials to electronics, medicine, quantum transport, etc.
The ICN2 is directly involved in the organization of the Conference, with ICREA Prof. Stephan Roche, leader of the Theoretical and Computational Nanoscience group, as a member of the Organising Committee. In addition, it will be present with an invited talk by ICREA Prof. Arben Merkoci, leader of the Nanobioelectronics and Biosensors group, other 8 oral presentations and 13 posters.
In order to allow interaction between researchers and industry professionals, the event includes an industrial forum and an exhibition, where virtual booths can be visited by attendees and possible collaborations established. The ICN2 will take part in the exhibition sharing a stand with BIST and ICFO, under the umbrella of GRAPHCAT (a FEDER project).
